MACD-2

A MACD in its own pane with a four-colour histogram that shows whether momentum is rising or falling, plus the MACD and signal lines.

How it works

  • Calculates MACD from the fast and slow moving averages, with a signal line.
  • The histogram changes colour: blue when momentum above zero is rising, sky blue when it is falling.
  • Below zero it is brown when momentum is falling and violet when it is rising, and grey when it does not change.
  • Shown in its own pane under the price chart.

How to use

  • Watch the histogram colour change to see momentum slowing down before the MACD crosses.
  • Use the MACD and signal line cross for direction.

How to add it to the terminal

  1. Download the indicator file above.
  2. In the terminal open Custom Coding & Files and Import the file.
  3. Press Compile.
  4. Right-click the compiled file and apply it to the chart.
